RK Air’s works included the supply and installation of 1200m of new 250mm ductile iron firemain within the ILS critical area at Gatwick Airport.
Works undertaken included all the associated civil engineering, including excavating the trench for the firemain which was traversed by 118nr existing services, installing pipework and valves, constructing valve and hydrant chambers and full reinstatement to match the existing terrain.
Works were completed during normal working hours and within the RT airside zone (requiring full dialogue with Gatwick control tower). The project was handed over four weeks ahead of programme and significantly within budget.
